Hi-Tech Roofing, LLC - Thermo Plastic, TPO, PVC

What does TPO & PVC stand for?
Thermoplastic Polyolefin (TPO) and Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) They both are white thermoplastic & highly reflective roof membranes. These roofs provide excellent weathering characteristics and are highly resistant to ultraviolet. The membranes have a reinforced scrim and are puncture and tear resistant. It can be used as a covering for flat roofs, and does not involve other layers of membranes such as mineral felt or similar. These types of roof systems are lightweight and they can be installed over the existing roof, saving a lot of money in not tearing-off the old roof.

They can be installed in 3 typical ways that provide lightweight and cost-effective solutions:
  1. TPO RhinoBond: System:This is all in one system uses the same fastener and plate to secure the membrane and the insulation to the deck without penetrating the roofing material and the roof membrane is welded directly to the plates. requires fewer fasteners, fewer seams and provides superior wind uplift performance.
  2. TPO Mechanically Attached System: It is a lightweight roof system and the TPO Sheets are loose laid over the substrate and mechanically fastened with plates and fasteners in the seams of adjoining sheets. The seams are heat-welded.
  3. Fully Adhered System: is a lightweight system with outstanding design flexibility and they are fully adhered directly to an acceptable substrate using Bonding Adhesive. Then the seams are heat welded.
Benefits: TPO: White Membrane – Energy Efficient.
  • Highly Resistant to ultraviolet and most chemicals
  • Significant labor savings in not tearing off old roof
  • Odor Free Installation &environmentally friendly
  • Seams are heat welded together using hot air with auto welder
  • Adaptable to unusual roof configurations
  • High wind uplift performance
  • Low material cost
  • Fast installation
  • Application on any low slope roof
